Probably BMX's all-time, most iconic seat design, originally unleashed on the world in 1981. Many have tried to resurrect it, but RetroBMX does it best. Now, giving you exactly the color combinations and materials you need to produce precisely the perfect finishing touch to any custom bike. Or, if your bike is straight from the shop sales floor, a custom RetroBMX seat will set your bike apart from the rest.
We start with just the right shape to our seat. Not too big, not too small. Not too wide, not too narrow. Simply an outstanding all-around seat that works on not only a BMX Race Bike, a BMX Freestyle Bike, a BMX Cruiser, but also even on a MTB, a Road Bike, or a Fixed Gear. Our seat base is constructed with two different density polymers, to provide "give" where you need it. On top of the base is over a half-inch of plush foam, providing all-day riding comfort - whether you tool around town on your cruiser, or push your road bike on a century. We only offer the best Rail choice - a hollow, Titanium-alloy Rail that is as light as it gets. These Rails have been proven durable, with over 250 RetroBMX seats sold since 2001.
Overtop of the foam-padded base, we cover our "Xtra Light" seats (average weight is about 10 oz - 280 grams) in Marine-grade vinyl (commonly referred to as Naugahyde [TM]) or, if you prefer, rip-stop Camoflauge Nylon. We've got 9 stock colors, and quick access to dozens more. Our seat covers are individually embroidered per your order with contrasting colored thread, to provide a custom, yet durable Lightning Bolt design. The embroidered RetroBMX logo on top of the seat is now displayed at your option - choose your seat with or without the RetroBMX logo.
If you are interested in something totally unique, our Exotic line offers genuine Cowhide leather, in many variations. Full grain or suede, or even Cowhide made to look like Crocodile, Ostrich or Snakeskin - we have options at hand to complete your bike's one-off, over-the-top appearance. Other colors of dyed Leather are available, along with other treatments. Now, we can do custom embroidery designs too!
